Daniel Hiebert

Daniel Hiebert: is a Professor of Geography at UBC who specializes in issues of public policy. Professor Hiebert’s personal research interests focus on immigration policy, the integration of newcomers into the housing and labour markets of Canadian cities, and the consequences of the growing ‘super-diversity’ of Canadian society. He has participated in a number of public advisory roles, and served as a Co-Chair of the City of Vancouver Mayor’s Working Group on Immigration. He is currently a member of the Deputy Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada’s Advisory Council. He is also engaged in international collaborative projects on migration and diversity policies with scholars in Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden.
