Kristina Bakkær Simonsen

Kristina Bakkær Simonsen is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Aarhus University (Denmark). Her research targets the intersection of politics and belonging in relation to immigrant integration issues and national identity, from the point of view of minorities and majorities alike. In 2020, she was awarded the young elite researcher Sapere Aude grant (~ 1.3 million CAD) by the Independent Research Fund Denmark to study the moralization of immigration in political rhetoric. Her most recent work has been published in Perspectives on PoliticsEuropean Journal of Political Research, and Political Behavior.
